Tesla continues to expand its Supercharger network in China with more and more charging stations to further enhance the company's car ownership experience. The rate of installation of Superchargers has increased so much that only in the last 24 hours Tesla has installed 27 entirely new, independent stations—totaling 219 mostly V3-equipped stalls.

Tesla's Supercharging team in China reported today that 27 new charging stations have been installed over the past 24 hours, providing an impressive list of them. A notable observation is that the vast majority of them are V3. According to the list, only 4 out of 27 stations are V2, while the remaining 23 stations are equipped with V3 Superchargers.

V3 is a completely new architecture for Supercharging. A new 1MW power cabinet with a similar design to Tesla utility-scale products supports peak rates of up to 250kW per car. This contributes to shorter charging times, which is very relevant, especially in the densely populated cities of China.

The expansion of infrastructure goes hand in hand with the growing demand for the company's vehicles in China. In early November, Tesla China announced that the company will proceed with the construction of almost 650 new Supercharging stations. Tesla China estimates that more than 7,000 stalls will be installed by the end of 2020, covering major cities and intercity roads across the country. Of these, about 5,000 will be DC charging stations and an additional 2,000 are slated as AC charging stations, covering more than 250 cities.

Tesla is installing its Superchargers in busy urban areas in China where residents and visitors can easily charge their vehicles. The stations are being built in nearby grocery stores, downtown districts, and shopping centers. In addition, Tesla is building charging stations along highways in mainland China. Giga Shanghai continues to ramp up production, which means that the Chinese market's demand for more charging stations also continues to grow rapidly.
