Tesla launches the long-awaited Midnight Cherry Red color in Europe. Deliveries of cars in the new color will begin in the summer of 2023.

At the end of October, Tesla Giga Berlin announced two new colors, Quicksilver and Midnight Cherry Red, for true connoisseurs of beauty. Achieving the depth of the new colors is made possible thanks to the latest paint shop, which uses unique paint application technologies. To date, cars in the new colors are only available in Europe. Midnight Cherry Red, with a striking depth that changes with the light to accentuate Model Y’s graceful curves, was not immediately available for order and many customers in Europe were expecting it. Now their wait is over as Tesla launched the ability to order cars in the new color, which was revealed on Wednesday.

According to the order configurator, Midnight Cherry Red is available on Model Y Long Range and Performance, while base Model Y is available in standard Red Multi-Coat. The price of Midnight Cherry Red is €3,200 for both variants, which will need to be paid in addition to the indicated price of the selected model. The delivery time for both Long Range and Performance in the new color is June-August 2023, that is, in 5-7 months.

Midnight Cherry Red is made possible by the Giga Berlin paint shop, which has a unique layout and was specifically designed and built to implement Tesla's new colors. During the painting process, up to 13 layers of paint are applied to the car, which gives the surface a unique depth and excellent appearance. Highly pigmented metallic paints provide a special sheen effect that enhances the design of Model Y and allows colors to change depending on the vehicle's angle and lighting.
