The first batch of hundreds of highly anticipated Tesla Model S and Model X vehicles has arrived in China for customer deliveries. They are expected to be handed over to customers at the end of this month.

The first Chinese consumers will soon receive their refreshed Tesla Model S and Model X orders, for which many have been waiting for more than two years. The first batch of long-awaited cars arrived in China on Sunday. According to @Tslachan/Twitter, 867 Model S and Model X vehicles arrived at the Chinese port of Tianjin. They shared photos of the vehicles from various angles. It is expected that their delivery to the first customers will take place at the end of the month. Presumably, the cars will be delivered to various regions of the country.

Tesla's Chinese customers have been waiting for deliveries to begin in late 2020. However, due to COVID-19, the company was not able to ramp up production as quickly as planned, leaving customers around the world outside the US to wait quite a while for deliveries. The first signs that Tesla is preparing to start deliveries of Model S and Model X to China appeared in October 2022. The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) approved the exemption of these vehicles from purchase tax. In January 2023, Tesla announced new prices for cars, while opening the possibility of ordering for China.
