The Giga Texas-made Tesla Model Y is now available for order from existing inventory on the company's website. Previously, they were only available to employees and some customers from areas close to the factory.

The Giga Texas-built Model Y All-Wheel Drive (AWD) is still not available in Tesla's Design Studio. Due to supply chain difficulties due to the Russian attack on Ukraine and the COVID-19 outbreak in China, the factory is unable to ramp up production as quickly as originally planned. However, some lucky ones will still be able to get a Model Y from the ultra high-tech Austin factory.

The electric compact SUV can now be purchased through the existing inventory section of Tesla's website, which appeared there on Wednesday afternoon, according to Drive Tesla. The six different vehicles offered on the website were located in Miami, Florida. They were painted in all six available colors offered by Tesla and all had a black interior. A few minutes after the appearance, some of them were sold.

Tesla offers Model Y “with up to 279 miles on a single charge and accelerate from 0-60 mph in as little as 5.0 seconds,” matching the Standard Range version. According to Tesla CEO Elon Musk, Giga Texas-built Model Ys are equipped with a structural battery pack and 4680 cells. There is a high possibility that, at the moment, the battery potential in these vehicles may be artificially reduced and the manufacturer will offer a range increase at an additional cost in the future.
