MIC Model Y

Tesla MIC Model Y Now Spotted on Giga Shanghai Test Track as Mass Production Grows More Imminent

Giga Shanghai will soon begin mass production of the Chinese-made Model Y. On the official company website, the estimated production start date is indicated as the beginning of 2021. Meanwhile, test vehicles have already been spotted several times nearby or at the factory.

A camouflaged Model Y was now spotted during testing on the Giga Shanghai test track, which is located next to the production building - Phase 2. It was a Deep Blue Metallic model that appears to have black wheels similar to the 20" Induction Wheels currently offered on the company's website for Model Y Long Range, as an added option.

This is the first time that Model Y has been spotted and filmed on a test track at Giga Shanghai. The model had already been seen several times near the factory during road tests.

In the photo, you can see that the front panel inside the car is also covered with camouflage film. In a prior sighting, Model Y with a front panel hidden under film was seen near Giga Shanghai. This observation hints that the made-in-China electric SUV may have differences in the interior of the vehicle.

Recently, more and more often we have seen reports that a camouflaged Model Y has been spotted near Giga Shanghai. This means that test production has already been fully launched, and mass production will soon begin.
