Tesla expands in Germany by opening a new Experience Center in the metropolis of Mannheim. This is the first Tesla Center in the region and brings together sales, delivery, and customer service under one roof.
Given the dangerous epidemiological situation due to COVID-19, the design of the new department allows you to perform all stages--consultation, test drive, purchase, delivery and service--without the need for direct contact with company employees. However, any customer can still utilize the in-person assistance of a Tesla employee as needed.
In a press release, Tesla said the new regional center at Saarburger Ring 19-21 in Mannheim is part of Tesla's overall expansion in Germany.
“The great growth for Tesla in the region, the strategically favorable location as well as the potential for further expansion in the future were the decisive factors in choosing the new branch on Saarburger Ring”.
Thanks to its proximity to the A6 and A5 highways, the Tesla Center on the Saarburg Ring is easily accessible from the entire service area between Frankfurt am Main and Stuttgart. Until now, customers had to rely on a store in Stuttgart and Frankfurt to service vehicles requiring a workshop. New cars were also delivered from Frankfurt or even Munich, which was not as convenient.
In early October, a new Tesla Center was opened in Hamburg, which is the largest in the country. It is modeled after China Experience Centers and, like the center on Saarburger Ring, integrates sales, delivery, and service all under one roof.
Previously, Tesla primarily relied on showrooms in central German metropolitan areas to grow company and product awareness, and service was mostly located on the outskirts. Now there is a new strategy: given the brand’s wide popularity, city stores are no longer relevant.
