Tesla CEO Elon Musk and CFO Zach Kirkhorn have added the title "Technoking of Tesla" and "Master of Coin" respectively. Musk and Kirkhorn retain their previous positions and titles.
The change was disclosed in a statement by Tesla to the US Securities and Exchange Commission on Monday, March 15. Musk and Kirkhorn will remain in their positions as CEO and CFO, according to the statement. However, from now on, Tesla CEO Musk will hold the title “Technoking of Tesla” and Tesla CFO Kirkhorn the title “Master of Coin.”
The filing, signed by Kirkhorn, stated:
“Effective as of March 15, 2021, the titles of Elon Musk and Zach Kirkhorn have changed to Technoking of Tesla and Master of Coin, respectively. Elon and Zach will also maintain their respective positions as Chief Executive Officer and Chief Financial Officer."
Musk once again adds positive changes that demonstrate that Tesla is not a typical company, but a place where creativity, a positive outlook on life, a good mood, and a great sense of humor are welcomed.
At the moment, it remains unknown what exactly served as the basis for the new titles, but we can assume some things. Musk is a fan of techno music and also works in the technology field, which could have served as a good basis for the "Technoking of Tesla" title.
In turn, the title "Master of Coin" is perfectly complemented by Kirkhorn, who is Tesla's CFO. It could also be a reference to the series (and book) the Game of Thrones. Master of Coin is a royal official in the government of the Six Kingdoms. The Master of Coin is in charge of the royal treasury, advises the monarch on financial matters, and is responsible for raising money to meet the Crown's needs.
