Elon Musk will hold a virtual meeting with Twitter employees this week where they can ask him questions, according to an internal email from Parag Agrawal.
Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal told employees on June 13 in an email that the company would hold a meeting to include guest speaker Elon Musk. According to an email viewed by Insider, he will answer questions from the platform team. Agrawal said that a virtual meeting with Musk will take place on Thursday. Twitter staff can submit their questions to him starting Wednesday.
The call will be moderated by Twitter's chief marketing officer and head of people, Leslie Berland. She will also read selected employee questions to Musk. Questions have previously been raised such as whether Donald Trump will be allowed to return to the platform, or whether there will be mass layoffs after the deal is closed.
Tensions arose between Twitter and Musk after the engineer bought a stake in the company and made some important remarks about how the platform should be improved. The board of the social network reacted strongly to such actions and adopted an aggressive posture. After Musk made the offer to buy it, the situation escalated even more as Twitter engaged in a poison pill strategy.
After some time, it became known that the platform could mislead investors, customers, and regulators about how many spam/bot/fake accounts it has. Denying accusations that their number may exceed the claimed <5%, Twitter refused to provide Musk with the real data, as well as the methodology on which the calculation was made. Last week, there was unconfirmed information that the social network is ready to transfer some data to the buyer, which may have contributed to the lull.
