Equities Research analyst Trip Chowdhry is confident that Tesla's Q4 2021 deliveries "will be massive." After visiting the Fremont factory, he is confident that the production and delivery of the entire vehicle lineup look very strong.
In keeping with the tradition of visiting Tesla's Fremont factory on Christmas Day, Equities Research analyst Trip Chowdhry again visited this Christmas. The manufacturer's holiday activity, among other things, provides a good indication of the company's efforts to achieve strong results at the end of the quarter and year. After visiting the factory in California, Chowdhry said he is confident that Q4 deliveries "will be massive," noting that production, shipping, and delivery activity is extremely strong, all through Q4 2021. He also mentioned that production, shipments, and delivery of Model S Plaid looks strong too.
The conclusions that Chowdhry usually draws after such checks often reflect the real situation and are a good indicator for investors' own predictions. For example, last year, after a visit to the Fremont factory on December 26, the analyst noted that such strong activity at the factory is evidence that Tesla could meet its 2020 production target of 500,000 vehicles. At the end of the year, it turned out that Chowdhry was right, although a number of Wall Street analysts held a different position.
To date, all Tesla figures for Q4 and for the whole of 2021 look very optimistic. The company did not give forecasts for the number of deliveries, however hinted that there could be about 750,000. Nevertheless, it is already becoming obvious that the manufacturer will surpass this number, since in only three quarters of the year, Tesla delivered 627,350 vehicles. Traditionally, the company's delivery figures have been growing from quarter to quarter. But even assuming they remain at the 240,000 vehicles level, as in Q3, the total number of deliveries will be almost 870,000. However, the number of deliveries in Q4 undoubtedly will be higher, so the final figures for 2021 are likely to be more than 900,000 vehicles.
